SCAN-INDIA is more concerned about the children as they are the future citizens and architects of the country. Improving the lives of young children is a major commitment of this organization. SCAN-INDIA runs Day Care Centers (crèches) for the rural children to lay a strong foundation in Primary Education and Healthcare.

These centres function as Pre-schools with a strength of around 25 children each between the age group of 1-5 where they get foundational Primary Education, Health care & Hygiene and Nutritious meals. These centres are also equipped with toys, learning and sports materials for the exclusive use of the children. After this pre-schooling they are enrolled into Regular Government Schools for further Education. The idea behind running these centers is to ensure that the children don not drop out from going to schools and become Child laborers. SCAN-INDIA tries to offer these underprivileged children a childhood that will have a positive impact on their later lives equipped with Good values and Quality education.

Health is not just freedom from disease; it concerns overall well being of the individual in all areas of life. SCAN-INDIA provides Health care to the poor and needy through Periodic Health Check-up camps and Health Awareness programmes in the communities. Many poor people are benefited through such Medical camps and we believe that such programs make a major impact in reducing the illnesses caused by ignorance of Basic Hygiene in the villages. These kinds of camps are conducted to relieve the suffering from many easily treatable illnesses and instill the spirit of Prevention rather than Cure.

SCAN-INDIA started the Computer Skill Training Programme for the unemployed Youth with the donation from Rotary Schleswig Germany in the year 2012. Computer skills empower the youth to get a simple job immediately. Computers are an effective communication tool and they may offer solutions to many socio-economic problems. Living in poverty with a limited education greatly hampers Rural Women from finding a job to support their families.

They are often at risk of being trapped in dehumanizing professions like begging and working in difficult jobs in the fields risking their health and life. The Tailoring Skills Program empowers them to develop a sense of self-worth and pride. Our Sewing Training program continues to attract the young women. Many young girls and women in villages waste their productive time without any opportunities and are longing to seek knowledge and skills that would prevent them from staying stuck in life.

Youth are a part and parcel of the social and cultural system of our society. Therefore SCAN-INDIA initiated innovative programmes to help these young people to channelize their potential for their own development. Awareness and Sensitization programs are conducted to organize Youth in Leadership Development, Counseling, Career Guidance and Personality Development. The SCAN INDIA Skill training center trains the young people in Job oriented Vocational Skills, Spoken English and Entrepreneurship Development Programs.

During the pandemic, we distributed essential COVID relief food packages, Dry ration kits  and vegetable supplies to vulnerable families facing severe economic hardship. Beyond immediate crisis response, we remain committed to long-term rehabilitation—helping families repair homes, restart livelihoods, and rebuild sustainable socio-economic stability.

Access to Drinking water is a fundamental human need and therefore it becomes a basic human right. Water-borne diseases are causing more than 4 million infants and Child deaths every year in developing countries. Ensuring safe water for the people is an important task of our organization as there is lack of access to clean water and sanitation in the rural areas. We look forward to agencies to support our projects in providing clean water through digging Borewells and Establishing Mini mineral water plants.
